‘Parts’ describes the discrete connection points between one object and another, whereas ‘Slots’ describes the attachment positions possible on a given object.
The standard naming schemes for bracket parts and in span parts in Lineardraft are shown below.
This standard naming scheme can be changed if required, however, the naming scheme must be consistent throughout a catalogue.
If there is only one connection point to the mast, drop tube or catenary/auxiliary wire, then the name must be ’Default’.
An example bracket of this type is shown below.

If there are two connections to the mast, drop tube or catenary wire, then the parts must be named ‘Top’ and ‘Bottom’.
An example bracket of this type is shown below.

If there are three connections to the mast or drop tube then the parts must be named ‘Top’, ‘Middle’, and ‘Bottom’.

A standard naming scheme has been created for up to three connections. Four or more connections are possible, as there currently is no limitation to the maximum amount of connections, however, a new naming scheme would be required.
